Yvonne G. LaPorte, 84 of Whitehall Wisconsin passed quietly on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Yvonne was born on August 13th; 1936 in Stutsman County, ND to William H. Carter and Lillian B. (Walters) Carter. She was one of 12 children. Yvonne was a blessing to all who knew her… she was devoted to her children and always supported them in pursuing their dreams. “Grandma Von” had a special bond with all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as her four stepchildren. She led a full life and worked at many jobs along the way, she especially enjoyed teaching ceramics and operating the Flower Pot in Independence. She had a passion to help others and spent her time during her retirement volunteering for Reaching Out Ministries in their food distribution area. She also spent countless hours sewing pillows, fabric gift bags, and filling them with toys and stuffed animals for the hundreds of children in the Runn School orphanage in Texas. Yvonne is survived by nine children, David (Betty) Wolfe of Arcadia, Lenice (Greg) Pronschinske of Independence, Sandra (Tom) Jindrick of Hillsboro, Dale (Marie) Wolfe of Hixton, Charlene (Jim) Schank of Bayfield, CO, Annette (Scott) Blanchard of Hixton, Douglas (Sandy) Wolfe of Mazomanie, Tony LaPorte of Sun Prairie, Leslie Tomblin of Philadelphia, PA; a sister Fern Chapman of Milton, WA; 23 grandchildren, Dean, Brenda, Dennis, Bridget, Darin, Damian, Tracy, Kelly, Michael, Christopher, Benjamin, Hunter, Cooper, Derek, Alexis, Ivy, Zachary, Claire, Carter, Kourtney, Austin, Abigail, Bryce and 27 great grandchildren. Stepchildren Robin La Porte, Renee Meyer, Rita Marsolek and Roger La Porte. There will be a gathering on Sunday, January 17th for immediate family in Independence, WI. Due to COVID gathering restrictions we are planning a burial and celebration of life in May. Memorials can be sent to her family who will continue her passion of supporting the Reaching Out Ministries food program and the Runn School.
