Thomas "Tom" Carter, Jr.

INDEPENDENCE –Thomas H. Carter Jr., 77, of rural Fountain City, formerly of Independence, died Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire. Tom was born November 30, 1941 in Duluth, Minn. to Thomas and Mary (McMillan) Carter Sr. He married Barbara Taylor in La Crosse. He was an auto upholsterer for many years. He worshipped with his wife at Bethel Lutheran Church in rural Arcadia. Tom is survived by his wife, Barbara; five children, Billy (Patti) Rosenow, Thomas E. Carter, Tamara (Dylan) Green, Tarey Carter and Mark Carter; 13 grandchildren, Tommy Carter, Isaiah, Audrey, Eva, Isla, Anneleise, Eli, Adeline Green, Billy J., Lita and Amanda Rosenow, Amber and Aliyah Carter; two brothers, Arthur and Walter Carter.  He is further survived by other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2019 at Bethel Lutheran Church, rural Arcadia with Rev. Ron Baerbock officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from noon until time of services.
