Rosalind “Rose” Brandenburg, 89, of Independence, died Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Eau Claire. Rose was born June 17, 1930 in Lebanon, Wis., to Simon and Margaret (Kelly) Egan. She married Eldon Brandenburg April 7, 1951 in Clintonville, Wis. Rose was passionate about many things in life. She loved her family and was always giving gifts on holidays to them and even to those she cared for during her 17 years as a Certified Nurse’s Aide at the Trempealeau County Health Care Center. She was a devout Catholic and her faith was very important to her. She loved her Irish heritage and her dog, Dolly. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, its women’s organization and rosary society. Rose is survived by her husband, Eldon of Independence; four children, Bruce Brandenburg of Independence, John Brandenburg of Tomah, Bill Brandenburg (Lori) Brandenburg of Independence and Kelli (fiancé Mark Brave) Brandenburg of Independence; two brothers, Michael Egan Sr. and Ted (Judy) Egan; eight grandchildren, Michael, Cheryl, Jared (Tanya) Tyler (Chastity Parris), Steven Brandenburg, Lindsey (Ryan) Gilbertson, Ryan and Brett (Sydney Pecha) Brandenburg; seven great-grandchildren, Matthew and McKenzie Brandenburg, Parker and Emryn Gilbertson, Lincoln, Trinnity and Jaxon Brandenburg. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Dorothy Egan, Johnny Egan, Margaret Baseler, Eugene Egan, Garret and Bill Egan. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 2019 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass at the church on Saturday.
