Richard A. Killian, 59 of Blair passed away unexpectedly at his home on February 28, 2018. Rick, as his family called him was born April 30, 1958 to Alphonse A. Killian and Blanche L. Saverinski Killian. He grew up in the Whitehall/Blair area and graduated from Cochrane Fountain City High School after the family moved to Buffalo City. He attended the Winona Technical College majoring in electronics. He married Karen George on October 16,1982; they later separated. Rick lived a simple life. He had a love of music, especially from the 1980s. One of his hobbies was enhancing sound systems so the music sounded the best possible. He also enjoyed watching sports on TV and playing chess. During the past 30 years, he raised and cared for 6 different cats and leaves behind his beloved “Kitty” who he rescued from living outside in the cold, Wisconsin winters. He loved his family and in later years was a devoted caregiver for both his parents. Because of his care, his parents were able to live at home well into their 80s. He was a kind, loving son, brother, uncle, great uncle and great-great uncle. Rick leaves behind a family that will miss him so much. Rick is survived by his sister, Patricia (Phil) Hammond, his nephew, Mark (Liz Melvin) Schultz, his niece, Tammy(Jamie) King, great niece, Morgan Hewitt, great nephews, Jackson (Cabernett Lane) Forseth, Christopher Schultz, Carter (Brittany Walker) Schultz, Dominick Forseth and great-great niece, Adelynn Forseth. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 5, 2018 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with burial in the church cemetery.
