Marie Kloss, born in 1938 to Thomas and Pauline Bautch, passed away at the Pigeon Falls Nursing Home on August 4th, 2024, at the age of 86.
Marie spent her childhood in Independence, WI, and then married her high school sweetheart, Don Kloss, in 1956. After getting married they moved to South Carolina, where Don was stationed in the Navy. Marie always spoke fondly of that time, and shared many memories of the friends they made. After their first child was born, they moved back to Wisconsin to raise their family. Together they had 4 children: Tom (Donna) Kloss, Dawn (Todd) Toraason, Lori (Todd) Appleton, and Jen (Cory) Tiebout. Marie devoted her life to taking care of her family.
Marie’s greatest joy was spending time with Don and through the years they shared a variety of different activities including snowmobiling, gardening, Sunday drives, and travel. Marie also loved to go shopping and spent many weekends chatting and browsing with her daughters and/or friends. She also enjoyed crafts and spent countless hours painting ceramics with friends, cross-stitching, and, later, making baby blankets for her grandkids.
She loved to laugh and was at her happiest when she could be doing something with or for her family. Things that made her smile: seeing her kids and grandkids, hummingbirds, a mischievous joke, a card or call from a friend, fresh fruit, ice cream, and perfectly painted nails.
She leaves behind her four children (see above); 10 grandkids: Brandon (Tiffany) Kloss, Adam Kloss, Lindsay (Brandon) Kurth, Trevor (Sunny) Toraason, Sydney (Ian) McNeill, Aubrey (Will) Jensen, Kennedy Appleton, Kaden Appleton, Jack Heffner and Helen Heffner, and 11 great-grandkids: Autumn and Gunnar Kloss, Alexis, Anna and Sawyer Kurth, Tatum Toraason, Renick, Retta and Reeve McNeill, Johannah and Hattie Jensen.
Marie will be joining her parents; husband, Don; siblings: Albin Bautch, Lilian Suchla and Lucille Sosalla; and other family and friends who have passed before her.
