Lisa Marie Ketchum, 61, of Chimney Rock, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at her home. Lisa was born in Melrose Park, IL on May 16, 1961, to Loretta Scanio and James (Donna) Bangiorno. She grew up in Illinois and graduated from Crystal Lake High School. It was there that she met the love of her life and future husband, Roger Ketchum, and the two were wed in Woodstock, IL on July 11, 1981. To this union, the couple was blessed with two sons, Ryan and Matthew. Roger and Lisa had dreams to dairy farm and settled in the country in rural Trempealeau County. Lisa’s caregiving nature led her to work as a night nurse at Tri-County Hospital, where she then followed a calling to serve with the Independence First Responders for over 27 years. When her boys were small, Lisa began working during the day with the Independence State Bank. She worked her way to compliance officer and enjoyed interacting with clients and co-workers for over 28 years. In her spare time, Lisa was a pillar of her community and would volunteer for many organizations and various events. She was a member of the Independence Lion’s Club, the Republican Party of Trempealeau County, and the First Baptist Church in Whitehall. Her family and faith were of the utmost importance to Lisa, and this was evident in the care and dedication she so humbly devoted to both. She loved spending time with her grandson, Colton, and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her granddaughter come November. Lisa enjoyed going out to dinner, watching movies, volunteering wherever she was needed, and attending family gatherings with her siblings, nieces and nephews. Her service-orientated nature and abundant love she showed her family and community will forever be cherished in the hearts of her loved ones. Lisa is survived by her loving husband, Roger of Chimney Rock; son: Matthew (Kirstyn) of Durand; grandson: Colton; granddaughter on the way: Rilynn Isabella; mother: Lorretta Scanio; bonus mom and friend: Donna Bangiorno; brother: Jim (Marcie) Bangiorno and Charlie (Diane) Hitchcock; sisters: Cari (Ron Quarrie) Bangiorno, Rhonda Allen, Paula Amick, and Kelly (Rol) Hitchcock; her Independence State Bank family; all members of the Independence First Responders, Fire Department, and emergency services; and numerous nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. She was preceded in death by her father; son, Ryan; and brothers: Carl and Scott Bangiorno. Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Thursday, August 18, 2022, from 4-7 p.m. at the Edison Funeral Home, Independence, where there will be a 7 p.m. prayer service and time of remembrance, and also one hour prior to the service at Grand Occasions on Friday.
