Kimberley A. Petersen

Kimberley A. Petersen, 64, of rural Independence, died Friday, February 19, 2021 at his home. He was born May 15, 1956 in Winona, Minn. to Lorris and Phillis (Wessin) Petersen. He married Claire Rothering and later divorced. He married his companion of 36 years, Teresa Petersen August 28, 2004. Kimberley worked at Nelson Muffler in Arcadia for many years. He loved taking care of his hobby farm in rural Independence. He loved to fish and ride in his convertible. He mostly loved spending time with family and playing card games. Survivors include his wife, Teresa; son, Brad (Jessica) Lapic of La Crosse; four grandchildren, Destin (Hana Moga) Petersen of Onalaska, Tessa Petersen of La Crosse, Dylan and Dawson Lapic of La Crosse; two sisters, Sybil (Jack) Frese of Lakeland, Fla. and Stephanie Burton of Quincy, Ill; nephew, Phillip Frese of Lakeland, Fla.; mother-in-law, Sandy Koll of Wabasha; brother-in-law, Fabian Koll of Wabasha; former wife, Claire Rothering and long time friends, Ron and Anita Abts. Kim was preceded in death by his son, Arthur Kimberley Petersen.
