Janice Kolve, 71, of rural Strum, died Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at her home. Janice was born May 13, 1947 in Whitehall, to Raymond and Eleanore (Dubiel) Bautch. She married LaVern Kolve January 7, 1967 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. He died January 19, 2013. The couple farmed in rural Strum. She also worked at Pat’s Country Market, Golden Plump and Ashley Furniture until retirement. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and doing crossword puzzles. Janice was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Janice is survived by two sons, Randy (Nikki) Kolve of Eleva and Michael (Heidi) Kolve of Strum; one brother, Roger (Becky) Bautch of Whitehall; one sister, Sue (Todd) Halama of Independence, six grandchildren, Justin (Cayla), James, Amanda and Tabatha Kolve, Austin Baynton, Ashlynn Solie; two great-grandchildren, Caleb Kolve and Ariana Kolve; special friend, Steven Austin of rural Strum and daughter-in-law, Evangeline Kolve of Independence. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Wayne Kolve and her step-father, Ralph Thoma. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2018 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Independence.
