Gene Rebarchek

Gene Rebarchek, 77, of Whitehall, died Sunday, December 31, 2017 at his home. Gene was born October 11, 1940, in Whitehall, to Roy and Katherine (Waletzki) Rebarchek. He married Eva Dean August 22, 1959 at St John’s Catholic Church, Whitehall. Gene’s passions were listening to music and playing lead guitar in many bands. He also enjoyed camping, cycling, traveling, fishing and hunting. He worked at Trempealeau County Highway Department until retirement. Gene is survived by his wife, Eva of Whitehall; three children, Mike (Maggie) Rebarchek of Independence, Roxane Rebarchek of Brookings, Ore. and Rachael (Rick) Baker of Whitehall; sister, Theresa Huff of Independence; three grandchildren, Mitchell (fiancée Nina Hayes) Rebarchek, William (Maddie) Brickwood and Joey Kassnoff and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Bruno, Edward, Clifford, Herman and Andrew Rebarchek and two sisters, Maggie Diepenbrock and Helen Schultz. Memorial services will be held at 7:30 p.m., followed by a rosary, at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, on Saturday, January 6, 2018. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
