Eileen Ruth Myren

Eileen Ruth Myren, 92, of Osseo, formerly of Eau Claire, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019, at Dove Healthcare, Osseo, surrounded by her loving family. Eileen was born May 31, 1926 in rural Strum. to Arthur and Olga (Mathison) Indgjer.  She married Adolph Myren, Jr. on June 3, 1944 at Ft. Dix, New Jersey. Eileen attended multiple rural Strum schools and graduated from the Strum High School in 1943. They had two daughters Darlene Insteness and Cherie Brekke. Together they farmed in rural Strum for many years. She also worked many other jobs through her life including at age 16, a popcorn factory in Chicago, Ill., Doughboy Industries in Eleva, Wis., Electric Cleaner Co. in Osseo, Wis. and ultimately retiring from the Uniroyal Tire Company in Eau Claire, Wis. after 22 years. She enjoyed many hobbies including, bowling, baking, playing cards, bingo, going to casinos and also golfing. She was especially proud of her hole-in-one at the Dallas Golf Course. She loved to travel and visited Norway, Hawaii, Alaska, Texas, Arizona, Las Vegas, New York, Seattle and also went on several Caribbean Cruises. Most important to her was spending time with her family. She was never happier then when she could attend and take part in their various activities. She is survived by her daughters, Darlene Insteness and Cherie (Terry) Brekke; four grandchildren, Blake (Jenny) Insteness, Tony Brekke, Jennie (Wayne) Larson and Sarah Brekke; six great-grandchildren, Alex, Caitlin, Madison, Shane, Tristan and Benjamin; a sister, Eldora Johnson, two brothers, Dennis Indgjer and Mike (Natalie) Indgjer; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Elsmore and Eugene, sisters-in-law, Myrtle, Ramona, Naomi, Amanda and Maggie; son-in-law, Bob Insteness; brothers-in-law, Howard Johnson, Ralph, Arthur, Sam, Orrin, William and George Myren. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Strum, with Rev. Valerian Ahles officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Strum. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The family would like to thank all of the staff at Dove Healthcare in Osseo for all of the wonderful care and love they showed Eileen during the past few years.
