Donna Hanson

Donna M. Hanson, 93, of Strum, died Thursday, November 21, 2024 at UW Hospital, Madison, Wisconsin peacefully surrounded by family.

She was born May 4th, 1931 to Orville and Hazel (Engum) Herbenson. She married Donald Hanson September23, 1950 at Norden Lutheran Church parsonage.

Donna resided most of her life in Strum and was a member of the Eleva Legion Auxiliary and ladies aid for many years for the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Strum where she helped with many fall pie events.

She also enjoyed working auctions with her husband.

Survivors include daughter, Sherry (Edward) Smith; six grandchildren, Patrice Kohl, Dustin (Stephanie) Kohl, Denise (Ryan) Baxter, Heather (Dan) Cornado, Brandon (Emily) Schmidt and Sabrina Schmidt; 12 great- grandchildren; and two sister-in-laws Marjorie Herbenson and Linda (Dennis) Hillstad.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donnal Hanson; 2 daughters, Jenell Hanson and Cindy Schmidt; brother, LaVern Hebenson; and sister-in-law Marie Gunderson.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 30 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Strum, with Reverend Terry Lorenz officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial service will follow at East Bennett Valley Cemetery, rural Eleva.
