Diane Litscher, 74, of Independence, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. Diane was born February 12, 1943, in Whitehall, to Alfred and Dorothy (Schultz) Servais and grew up in Arcadia. She married Marvin Litscher May 14, 1966 in Fountain City, Wis. The couple farmed together in Traverse Valley, rural Independence, until retirement. Diane enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and providing childcare for several neighbors. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and women’s organization. Diane is survived by her husband, Marvin of Independence; three children, Marie (Craig) Stancl of Byron, Minn., Mark (June) Litscher of Chippewa Falls and Marlet (Tony) Pyka of Independence; two brothers, Dale Servais and Dean (Kristine) Servais; three sisters, Darlene (Jim) Boberg, Debbie (Dick) Putz and Donna (Wayne) Ruben; sister-in-law, Diane Servais; six grandchildren, Jarrett, Hanna and Paige Litscher, Grace, Ben and Nathan Pyka. Diane is further survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dennis Servais; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Servais, and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., followed by a rosary, at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, and one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Saturday.
