– Dennis E. Kampa, 59, of rural Independence, died Monday, August 20, 2018 at Gundersen Tri-County Hospital and Clinics, Whitehall. Dennis was born November 22, 1958 in Whitehall, to Adolph and Angeline (Sluga) Kampa Sr. He married Louanne Prokop at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. Dennis owned and operated Elk Creek Feed Mill for many years. He was an avid Hank Williams Jr. and Beatles fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and genealogy. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He is survived by his daughter, Shelly (fiancé Chris Reinhardt) Kampa of Mondovi; a son, Jamie Kampa and granddaughter, Nova Kampa (mother Danielle Becker) of Eleva; a sister, Shirley (Roger) Pronschinske of Sturgeon Bay; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Adolph Kampa Jr. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2018 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with Rev. Woodrow H. Pace officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., followed by a rosary, at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, and one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Monday.
