Benjamin “Benjie” A. Marsolek, 87, of rural Independence, died Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Grand View Care Center, Blair. He was born June 17, 1932 in Trempealeau County, Town of Burnside, to Ben J. and Celia (Walek) Marsolek. He married Anne E. Klimek on October 6, 1953 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. Benjie was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He had served on the building and maintenance committee years ago. He was a dairy farmer. His favorite thing to do on the farm was combining. He enjoyed doing electrical work for family and friends. He loved to socialize and was a Mollie B and Maggie Mae fan. Benjie is survived by his daughter, Cassie (Jim) Halama; son, Tom (Renee) Marsolek; five grandchildren, Francie and Nick Halama; Laura, Kaitlyn and Benjamin Marsolek. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne in 2006; father, Ben J.; mother, Celia (Walek) Marsolek and sister, Pat Pietrek. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Independence. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Edison Funeral in Independence on Monday, from 5-8 p.m. with a prayer service and rosary at 7:30 p.m. and on Tuesday one hour prior to the Mass at the church.
