Barbara “Bobby” Gronemus, 89, of Whitehall, died Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Grandview Care Center, Blair. She was born November 21, 1931 in Sparta, to Irwin and Irene (Resch) Barry. Bobby married Lambert “Bert” Gronemus on October 12, 1949 at St. Mary’s Ridge Catholic Church, Norwalk He died January 19, 2005. Bobby served in the Wisconsin state assembly for 26 years representing what was then the 91st District. She was especially proud to represent the farmers. Bobby loved fishing, flowers, dancing, farmers and her beagle dog and cats. She was a trustee at the Trempealeau County Health Care Center for many years. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church. Survivors include three daughters, Michele Gronemus of Farmington, Minn., Jackie (Eric) Baken of Pigeon Falls and Susie (Rocky) Williams of Elk River, Minn; five grandchildren, Nick (Kristen) Carroll of Whitehall, Colleen (Mike) Readdy of Rockford, Ill., Ryan Williams of Elk River, Walker Williams of Princeton, Minn., and Bonnie Jean (Greg) Ives of West Salem; six great-grandchildren, Brian Readdy, Michael and Kevin Carroll, Hailey, Mia and Rylan Ives; great-great-grandson, Silar Readdy; sister, Maureen Gamadinger. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lambert, and brother, John P. Barry. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 22, 2021 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Whitehall, with Rev. George Thayilkuzhithottu officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Whitehall. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to Mass. Online condolences may be offered at www.edisonfuneralhome.com. If those coming forward are not receiving Communion, they can simply signal by crossing their arms or pass by without approaching the priest of deacon. + Maintain proper social distancing at the end of Mass. + Maintain proper social distancing while at the graveside service. + At this time there will be no funeral luncheons served in the church.
