Angeline M. Voss, 94, of Elk Creek, died Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Gundersen Tri-County Care Center, Whitehall. Angeline was born January 6, 1923, in Hale Township, Trempealeau County, to Joseph and Lucy (Roskos) Gierok. She married Joseph Voss May 15, 1948 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. He died March 29, 2000. Angeline started her registered nurse career at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls. She then worked in Strum Nursing Home and retired from St. Joseph’s Nursing Home in Arcadia after 50 years. She also ran the Elk Creek Store with her husband for 44 years. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and women’s organization. Angeline is survived by two daughters, Ann George of Trempealeau and Mary Kay (Ronald) Sonsalla of Independence; four grandchildren, Scottie Sonsalla of Eleva, Rose (Don) Fane of Eau Claire, Michael (Katie) George of Trempealeau and Neil Sonsalla of Independence; four great-grandchildren, Brittny Sonsalla of Eleva, Kaylee Fane of Eau Claire, Peyton and Harrison George of Trempealeau and a sister-in-law, Helen Gierok of Independence. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, John “Sam” Voss; son-in-law, David George; three brothers, Aloisy, Tony and Roman Gierok; two sisters, Florence Mlynek and Rosemary Ehlers; two great-grandsons, Brandon and Carson Fane. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., followed by a rosary, at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, and one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Wednesday.
