Andre Cardinal

Andre Cardinal, 25, of Arcadia, formerly of Independence, died Sunday, December 22, 2019 in Arcadia. Andre was born September 9, 1994 in Columbus, Ga. to Bronson Cardinal and Petra Gopfert. Andre graduated from Independence High School in 2013 and attended University of Wisconsin-Stout for two years. He worked at Shopko, Randy’s Neighborhood Market and as a PC Tech at Ashley Furniture. He is survived by his father, Bronson (Krista) Cardinal of Altoona; mother, Petra Gopfert and Jeff Meltzer of Manhattan, N.Y.; half-brother, Jonah Treiber of Manhattan, N.Y.; paternal grandparents, Ruth (Daniel) Halama of Whitehall and Lawrence Cardinal of Phoenix, Ariz.; two uncles, Stefan Ziegler of Nuremberg, Germany and Shawn (Denise) Cardinal of Rock Hill, S.C.; cousins, Jake and Josh Cardinal; great-aunts and great-uncles. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 30, 2019 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with burial in the church cemetery.
