Allis D. Ottum, 65, of rural Independence, died Monday, November 4, 2019 at his home. Allis was born August 23, 1954 in Mondovi to Edwin and Grace (Adams) Ottum. He married Rose Przybilla on April 10, 1981. Allis graduated from Gilmanton High School. He worked at Badger Foundry in Winona for 40+ years and enjoyed hunting and fishing and listening to Marty on WHTL. Allis is survived by his wife, Rose; daughter, Kari (Chad) Kulig of Independence; son, Brandon Ottum of Eau Claire; three sisters, Jensine (Elmer) Myers of Nelson, Linda Robinson of Osseo and Vicky Fuller of Altoona; two brothers, Royal Ottum of Modena and Clifford (Sandy) Ottum of Orlando, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mavis Anderson, Darlene Davis and Treva Loewenhagen; seven brothers, Art, Richard, Darrel, Jim, Kerry, Landon, Donnie and Ross Ottum. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Independence Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Tobiason officiating. Visitation will be held at Edison Funeral in Independence on Wednesday, November 6, from 4-7 p.m. and on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.
