Alice Mae Fremstad-Ida, 81, of Osseo, died Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at Clearwater Care Center in Eau Claire. Alice was born September 3, 1937 in Whitehall to Arthur and Myrtle (Hanson) Riphenburg. She married Oliver Fremstad May 8, 1954 in Pigeon Falls. She later married Richard Ida December 26, 1979. Alice worked at the root beer stand in Osseo at the age of 15. She farmed in rural Osseo until retirement. She was a proud farmer and loving mother. She was a crafter, snowmobiler and loved fishing. She was a member of the Riverview Homemakers and was a King’s Valley 4-H Leader. She was a dedicated mother, always allowing her children to participate in school functions. Alice is survived by six children, Audree (Mark) Van Helden of Eau Claire, Orlin (Eileen) Fremstad of Osseo, Curtiss Fremstad of Osseo, Patricia Erickson of Strum, Charles (Lori) Fremstad of Osseo and Jon (Deena) Fremstad of Dallas, Ga.; a sister, Carol Douglas of Lewiston, Minn.; two brothers, Kenneth (Dana) Riphenburg of Osseo and Harold (Sue) Riphenburg of Fairchild; 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and a great-granddaughter, Abigail Fremstad. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Terry Lorenz officiating. Burial will be in Osseo Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday at the church and one hour prior to services on Saturday also at the church.
