Albin A. Woychik, 92, of Independence, died Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Gundersen Tri-County Care Center, Whitehall. Albin was born January 15, 1926 at home, in Burnside Township, Trempealeau County, to Peter A. and Mary F. (Killian) Woychik. He married Margaret Kulig September 1, 1952 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. They farmed together for many years in Burnside Township. She died April 22, 2002. He married Bernice Kulig May 7, 2004 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She died June 29, 2010. Albin was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society and Restoration Committee. He was a lector and a member of the Rosary Society. Albin worked as a Town of Burnside Assessor and Town Chairman. He was a member of Wisconsin Towns Association, Farmer’s Union County Secretary and Insurance Agent. After retirement from the farm, he was a volunteer driver for Trempealeau county ARDC-meals on wheels and medical appointments, AARP Trempealeau County Director, Lion’s Club member, Alderman for the city of Independence, president, secretary and manager of the Bugle Apartments. He enjoyed family get-togethers, playing cards, Packers and Brewers. Albin is survived by three sons, Joe (Lois), Charles (Jennifer) and Peter (Robin) Woychik all of Independence; three daughters, Betty (Jim) Feuling of Alma, Mary (Randy) Gunderson of Independence and Kathleen (Patric) Kupka of Whitehall; 18 grandchildren, Stacey Woychik, Adam (Lora) Feuling, Jackie (Nathan) VandenHeuval, David Feuling, Jason (Erin) Gunderson, Kelli (Nick) Kamholz, Kari (Matthew) Pedersen, Tim (Deanise), John and Tom (special friend, Alicia) Woychik, John and Jesse (special friend, Cailyn) Kupka, Amelia (Dave) Olson, Albin, Andrew, Margaret, Rachel (special friend, Cooper) and Benjamin Woychik; many great-grandchildren; brother, Marcus Woychik of Independence; sister, Irene Dittrich of Alma, sisters-in-law, Carol Wolfe of Independence and Evelyn Woychik of Winona; daughter-in-law, Diane Woychik; cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, wife, Bernice; son, Thomas; two grandsons, James Feuling and Craig Woychik; twin brother, Adolph Albin; two half-brothers, Alphonse and Edward Woychik and half-sister, Caroline Woychik. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with Rev. Woodrow H. Pace officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Monday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., followed by a rosary, at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, and one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Tuesday.
