Robert Rosenthal

Strum - Robert “Bob” Rosenthal, 63, of Strum, died Friday, August 13, 2010 at the Rochester Methodist Hospital at Rochester, Minn. surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 5, 1947, in Eau Claire, son of the late Frank and Alyce (Brager) Rosenthal, Jr. On October 30, 1971, he married Katherine Gray. He was raised and attended school in Mondovi. Bob served in the Army National Guard from 1966 to 1972. He was extremely proud of his 43 plus years at Werner Electric and being a part of that family. Bob enjoyed camping, fishing, his flower beds, but mostly spending time in his “garage”. Above all, he treasured the time spent with his family. Bob was very proud of his three sons he and Katherine raised and for providing for their and Katherine's every need. His grandchildren were a very special part of his life and enjoyed their activities. His inspiration and love lives on through the hearts of his wife of 38 years, Katherine of Strum; his children and grandchildren, Jonathan of New Richmond; Nathan (Emily) and their children Brady, Allyson, Andrea and Katelyn of Elk Mound; Jeremy (special friend, Angela Miller) and his children, Blake and Brett, and Angela’s children, Alexiss, Teegan and Jacob all of Elk Mound; two grand-dogs, Kayne and Mazey; a sister, Judith Hacker of Chippewa Falls; a brother, Donald (Susan) Rosenthal of Osseo; loving parents-in-law, Claire and Lucille Gray of Rochester, Minn.; two brothers-in-law, Daniel (Rosalie) Gray, of Strum and Bruce (Linda) Gray of Eau Claire; two sisters-in-law, Vickie (Howard) TePoel and Sue Ann (Rick) Hyde both of Rochester, Minn.; many nieces and nephews, cousins, and the many special friends who will always remain with Bob in his heart. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a baby brother, paternal and maternal grandparents, aunts and uncles. Bob was a very wonderful, loving and caring man who will be missed by all whom had the pleasure of knowing him. Bob's family would like to thank Dr. Ken Rucker and Zoe Sie of Durand, Dr. Kostandinos Sideras and all the wonderful physicians and their staff and Chaplains at the Rochester Methodist Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Strum with Rev. Christine Emerson and Rev. John Poppe officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul's Cemetery in Strum. Military rites will be conducted by Hopland-Moen American Legion Post 459. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran Church and one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
