Vincent Klimek, 86, of rural Independence, died Friday, February 10, 2017 at Gundersen Tri-County Care Center, Whitehall. Vincent was born January 23, 1931, in Burnside Township, Trempealeau County, to Peter and Frances (Przybilla) Klimek. He married Joyce Manka May 12, 1962 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. The couple farmed on the farm Vincent was born and raised on in Burnside Township. He took pride in his farm and liked his old time International tractors. He enjoyed driving his 4-wheeler with his dog, Buddy, spending time in nature, watching birds and animals. Vincent is survived by his wife, Joyce Klimek of rural Independence; daughter, Faye (David) Halama of Independence; son, Greg Klimek of Independence; brother, Albert Klimek of Arcadia; sisters, Valeria Kampa of Arcadia and Marian (Alfred) Micek of Independence. He was preceded in death by four sisters, infant Eleanor Klimek, Anne Marsolek, Rose Woychik and Dorothy Suchla and brother, Aloizy Klimek. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Monday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., followed by a rosary, at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, and one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Tuesday.
