Eleanore Bernard Bohlinger, 89, of rural Whitehall, died Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Gundersen Tri-County Care Center, Whitehall.
Eleanore was born February 23, 1927, in Trempealeau County, to John P. and Verna (Roskos) Matchey. She married Andrew A. Rebarchek. He died September 7, 1961. She later married Willard Bohlinger. He died October 26, 1997.
Eleanore was born on a farm to a farmer and married a farmer. She continued to be a farmer her entire life. Her farming background led to her plants and produce business – a super garden. She owned and operated Country Store for several years. She was a home health-care provider for many years.
She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, its women’s organization and rosary society.
Eleanore is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Harold) Roskos of So. Milwaukee and Patricia (Jon) Strom of Minneapolis; son, Gary (Donna) Rebarchek of Whitehall; brother, Edward (Doris) Matchey of Whitehall and sister Darlene (Bernard) Sura of Kenosha; two grandchildren, Craig (Julia) Roskos and Jill Roskos and two great-grandchildren, Zak and Henry Roskos.
Her strong work ethic was passed on to her children as well as many step-children and their families.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; son, Rudy Rebarchek; three brothers, Ollie, Bernard and Richard Matchey and sister, Marion Sosalla.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 23, 2017 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with Very Rev. Woodrow H. Pace officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., followed by a rosary, at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, and one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Monday.
