Lillian R. Suchla, 91, of Independence, died Friday, December 30, 2016 at Grand View Care Center, Blair. Lillian was born August 6, 1925 in Trempealeau County, to Thomas and Pauline (Mylnek) Bautch. She married Edmund A. Suchla May 14, 1946 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. He died October 5, 2003. Lillian enjoyed spending time with her family and loved watching her children and grandchildren participating in their sporting events. She enjoyed going to naval reunions with her husband and she drove bus for Pape Bus Service for many years. Lillian was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, its women’s organization and rosary society. She was proud to be a 91-year member of the American Legion Auxillary. She is survived by five children, Ann (Duane) Barker of Rice Lake, Alan P. Suchla of Whitehall, Trish (Mark) Brown of Webster, Michael (Deb) Suchla of La Crosse and Cindy (Pat) Kotlarz of Independence; six grandchildren, Reg (Melissa Niebes) Zeller, Douglas (friend, Tracy Anderson) Brown, Nikki (Brian) Jorgenson, Jonathon Kotlarz, Kelly (Jason) Bagniewski and Jackie Suchla; seven great-grandchildren, Brittani (Nick) Spafford, Alex Hopkins, Zayden Jorgenson, Jacob Kotlarz, Sydney, Allyssa and Josie Bagniewski; three great-great-grandchildren, Landyn, Brantley and Aubree Spafford and two sisters, Lucille Sosalla and Marie Kloss both of Independence. She was preceded in death by her husband and brother, Albin Bautch. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 2, 2017 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with Very Rev. Woodrow H. Pace officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., followed by a rosary, at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, and one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Monday.
