James Kehrmeyer

James Kehrmeyer, 72, of rural Osseo, died Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at his home. James was born April 1, 1944, in Fond du Lac, to Francis and Patricia (Michels) Kehrmeyer. He married Donna Schley October 8, 1994 at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville, Wis. Jim was a loving and caring person who loved his grandchildren so dearly. He always wrote special notes in their birthday cards. He was a lover of nature and of all its creatures-even the Vikings. He will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife, Donna; four children, Tom (Amy) Schley of Marion, Wis., Bart (Sandy) Schley of Oregon, Wis., LeAnn (Derk) Hopp of Bear Creek, Wis., and Darrin (Kathy) Schley of New London, Wis.; eleven grandchildren, Andrew, Austin, Adam and Alex Schley, Kristi (Nate) Berg, Kory Kittleson, Brandon, Blake and Brookelyn Hopp, Dylan and Katelyn Schley; four great-grandchildren, Kendall, Giles, Casen and Autumn Berg; sister, Kristine (Mark) Ashmus of Fond du Lac; two brothers, Gary (Iris) Kehrmeyer and Bob (Lynette) Kehrmeyer, both of Waupun; nephew, Christopher (Jill) Kehrmeyer; nieces, Jessica Dumke, Whitney (Mike) Wagner, and Kate Kehrmeyer; mother-in-law, Joan (Ed) Dammeir of Gaastra, Mich. Jim is further survived by great-nieces and nephews, and Donna’s brothers and sisters and their spouses and children, many cousins and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Patricia and his father-in-law, William Ebert. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Elk Creek Lutheran Church, (N46265 County Road OO), rural Osseo. Burial, with military rites, will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at the church on Tuesday. Thank you to Brittany and all of the other First Responders for all your special efforts in trying to help Jim and to Tim, Brian and Pastor Terry for coming so fast. We appreciate everything. Special thanks also go to Keith, Nancy and Teresa Edison for all of your kindness. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Wildwood Zoo in Marshfield, Wis., or donor’s choice.
