Ronald Douglas Myers

Ronald D. Myers, 71, of Round Lake Beach, Illinois, died Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, Ill. Ronald was born December 26, 1944 in Flint, Michigan to Ernest and Clara (Chasteen) Myers. He married Dorothy “Darlene” Sluga in Norfolk, Virginia. Ronald served in the U. S. Navy until retiring in 1985. He then was an instructor at Great Lakes Naval Base in Waukegan, Illinois. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy “Darlene” Myers of Round Lake Beach, Ill.; three children, Clara (Tim) Hartley of Hebron, Neb., Patricia Riddley and Karen Brown both of Sylacauga, Ala.; sister, Betty (Bob) Gibson of Flint, Mich.; brother, Ed (Bev) Myers of San Benito, Texas; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Mo Linder. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 3, 2016 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. Burial, with military rites, will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
