Allen E. “Big Al” Keding, 56, of Independence, died Tuesday, September 20, 2016.
Allen was born February 5, 1960 in Robbinsdale, Minn., to Donald and Donna (Sjodin) Keding.
He graduated from Grantsburg High School in 1978 and then attended UW-Eau Claire. He spent several years managing Chi-Chi’s restaurant in Eau Claire and Green Bay. He moved to Independence and worked at Eagles. There the patrons became his extended family.
Big Al is survived by his parents, Donald and Donna Keding of Eau Claire; brother, Jeff Keding of Eau Claire; two sisters, Deb (Gary) Leventhal of Memphis, Tenn. and Polly (Bruce) Scholze of Collierville, Tenn.; nieces and nephews, Chris (Emily) Charles, Brittany (Joshua) van Gorkom, Robby and Brandy Charles, Ally, Anna and Dominic Scholze; and many great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Keding.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 24 at Calvary Baptist Church, 3036 Epiphany Lane, Eau Claire. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, rural Independence, at 3:00 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at Eagles, Independence.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
