Bernice Waldera, 91, of Blair, died Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Grand View Care Center, Blair.
Bernice was born March 28, 1925 in Trempealeau County, to Roman and Mildred (Lewis) Klink. She married Daniel “Vern” Waldera June 26, 1945 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. He died November 2, 2000.
The couple farmed in Welch Coulee, rural Blair. Bernice enjoyed taking care of their cows. She also loved sewing, cooking and canning. She was a member of St. Ansgar Catholic Church and its choir.
She is survived by five children, Susan Knowles of Madison, David Waldera of Mt. Horeb, Bonnie (Ron) Konsela of Menomonie, Barbara Zabinski of Onalaska and Randy (Peggy) Waldera of Blair; sister, Dorothy Olson of Spring Hill, Tenn; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two infant sons, Dennis and James; son, Troy Waldera; two brothers, Jerome and Fr. Eugene Klink.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016 at St. Ansgar Catholic Church, Blair, with Rev. Malaiyappan Amalanathan officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Blair.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. followed by a rosary, at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
