Clarence “Sonny” Dubiel, 72, of Holmen, formerly of Independence, died Monday, August 8, 2016 at Bluffview Manor, Holmen.
Sonny was born August 6, 1944, in Hale Township, Trempealeau County, to Clarence and Agnes (Saverinski) Dubiel, Sr. He married Susan Johnson January 16, 1965 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence.
The couple farmed in Hale Township until retirement. They received the FHA Farm Family of The Year Award in 1973. Sonny also worked for Ashley Furniture after retirement in maintenance and enjoyed fishing.
Sonny is survived by his wife, Susan of Holmen; three children, Lori (Mark) Glodowski of Arcadia, Colin (Becky) Dubiel of Whitehall and Cheri Dubiel of McFarland, Wis.; his mother, Agnes Dubiel of Independence; four sisters, Betty Stinson of Racine, Phyllis (Rollie) Reck of Milwaukee, Shirley (John) Konter of Independence and Kathy (Russ) Kujak of Arcadia; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandson, Jacob Glodowski.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2016 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. followed by a rosary, at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
