Donald "cotton top" J. Skroch, 79, originally from Arcadia and Independence, died July 31, 2014 in Winter Haven, FL, in his retirement at a golf community.
He was diligently taking care of his ex-wife, Geraldine Skroch, who was suffering severe dementia for many years.
He was born February 14, 1935 in Independence to Alphonse "Allie" and Armienna (Byrne) Skroch.
Donald served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include son, Michael J. Skroch of Albuquerque, NM and five grandchildren, Mitchell Duran Skroch, Caley Bryn Skroch, Jonathan Brent Skroch, Heath Noah Skroch, and Hunter Aaron Skroch. He is also survived by his sisters Lois (Skroch) Braun and Carol (Skroch) Hoesley, and brother Gary Skroch.
Graveside services, with military rites, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 8, 2016 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Independence, Wis.
