Peter "Pete" P. Mish, of Independence, died Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Gundersen Tri-County Hospital and Clinics - Whitehall.
Pete was born in Independence to Frank and Euphrosine (Maciosek) Mish. He married Victoria Bautch on February 22, 1975 in Eau Claire.
Following high school, Pete played semi-professional baseball with several teams, until entering the military. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was wounded during his war service which prevented him from returning to his baseball career. He owned and operated Eagles Tavern in Independence assisted by Dennis "Buzzy" Pronschinske and Clarence Marsolek until retirement.
Peter is survived by his extended family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with burial in the church cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Sura-Wiersgalla American Legion Post 186.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
