Ann Hammang Halama, 67, of rural Independence, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at her home.
Ann was born September 12, 1948 in Fond du Lac, Wis., to Paul and Elizabeth (Gaffin) Hammang. She married William Halama August 16, 1969 in Fond du Lac.
Ann loved her family and enjoyed reading, sitting outside on beautiful days, talking smart, referencing her college dictionary, avoiding photos and serious conversations, and watching TV with no volume. She was one of a kind and will be sorely missed.
Survivors include her husband, William of Independence; four children, Christopher (Gabriela) Halama of Chandler, Ariz., Benjamin (Kristina) Halama of Plymouth, Minn., Matthew (Angela) Halama of Apple Valley, Minn. and Julia (Jordan) Marti of La Crosse, Wis.; siblings, Louise (Mike) Davies, Cathy (Dan) Bittner, Beth (Paul) Feldner, Sara (Dick) Diener, Joe (Susan) Hammang; and Paula (Bill) Hilbert; seven grandchildren, Sebastian, Colette, Emily, Alexander, Ellianna Halama; Bart and Stanley Marti; nieces and nephews; very special family members Jerome, Tracy, Hillary, and Hannah Halama.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, with Very Rev. Woodrow H. Pace officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. until time of service Sunday at the funeral home.
