Alan W. Weist

Alan W. Weist, 75, of Blair, died Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Black River Memorial Hospital in Black River Falls. Alan was born November 15, 1940 in La Crosse to Walter and Verna (Calkins) Weist. After serving in the Air Force for four years, Alan worked as a Deputy Sheriff in Florida at the Monroe County jail until retirement and then moved to Blair. Survivors include two sisters, Becky (Dennis) Maule of Independence and Penny (Keith) Mathson of Greenfield, Wis.; nieces and nephews, Kim (Paul) Cassem of Holmen, Greg Maule of Rochester, Kara (Travis) Nehring of Greenfield, Wis., and Kurt (Liza) Mathson of Greenfield, Wis.; great-nieces and nephews, Alex Cassem, Kelsey and Laura Nehring, Logan and Erik Mathson. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James and niece, Sara Mathson. Graveside services will be held on May 28, 2016 at Rest Haven Cemetery in Blair.
