Evelyn R. Bautch, 95, of Independence, died Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Clairemont Nursing and Rehabilitation, Eau Claire.
Evelyn was born October 13, 1919 in Burnside Township, Trempealeau County, to Joseph F. and Rose (Woychik) Bautch. She married George A. Bautch June 21, 1938 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. He died May 23, 1999.
The couple farmed in North Branch, Hale Township. Evelyn worked at the BBQ chicken stand at the Fall Festival for 20 years. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, its women's organization and rosary society.
Survivors include two children, Arlene A. Ruland and Richard G. (friend, Mona Blanchard) Bautch both of Strum; grandchildren, Elizabeth (David) Gunderson, Deborah (Tom) Bowe, Robin (Rob) Rasmussen, Troy (Nicole) Bautch, Jennifer (Chad) Lechleitner and Tonya (Kurt Jr.) Tonn; fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter born on Evelyn’s 95th birthday.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Ben, Alex, Clarence, Emil Bautch and infant Ed; sister, Eleanor Killian, grandson, Thomas Ruland and son-in-law, Marvin Ruland.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with Very Rev. Woodrow H. Pace officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
