Amy E. Marsolek, 96, of Eau Claire, formerly of Independence, died Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Dove Healthcare-West, Eau Claire.Amy was born July 22, 1918 in Chimney Rock Township, Trempealeau County, to Carl and Annie (Klove) Espeseth. She married Clifford F. Marsolek on July 14, 1938 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. He died in 1963. The couple were life-long farmers in Dover Township, Buffalo County. Amy worked for the church fall festival until she was 95 years old. She enjoyed embroidering and making quilts. She canned the best pickles and baked homemade bread. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, its women's organization and rosary society. Survivors include her children, Mary (Paul) Kabus of Willard, Wis., Frank Marsolek of Independence and Dorothy (David) Bauer of Eau Claire. Following her daughter Clara's death she raised granddaughter's Rosie (Todd) Joles of La Mesa, Calif. and Karen (Dennis) Wyttenbach of Independence. Further survived by other grandchildren, Joe (Kris) and Dennis (Janelle) Kabus, Sandy (Bryan) Tamke, Diana (Zachary) Strain, Daren (Terryl) and Dean (Jill) Bauer, Denise (Jim) Parker, Deb (Eric) Salberg, Dana (Jon) Corey, 23 great-grandchildren including Kayla (Brandon) Kubis and Shane (Jessica) Wyttenbach and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Clara; great-grandchildren, Zachariah Strain and Sophie Kabus; four sisters and one brother. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2014 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with Very Rev. Woodrow H. Pace officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
