Bonnie Gunderson, 60, of rural Whitehall, died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at her home following a four year courageous battle with cancer. Bonnie was born in Whitehall on May 8, 1954 to Edward G. and Eleanor (Kupka) Bautch. She married Gary Gunderson July 15, 1972 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. The couple dairy farmed in Poker Coulee for over 40 years. She loved her family and enjoyed gardening and bowling. She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, its Women's Organization and Rosary Society. Survivors include her husband, Gary; daughter, Mandy (Matt) Hames of Fayetteville, N. C.; two sons, Scott (special friend, Gail Waletzko) Gunderson and Eric (Kassundra) Gunderson both of Whitehall; two sisters, Darlene Welciek of Eau Claire and Marlet (David) Marsolek of Independence; five grandchildren, Nicholas and Jacob Hames, Mitchell and Lily Gunderson and Dakota Waletzko; and mother-in-law, Jeanette Moen of Blair. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Joan Bautch. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with Very Rev. Woodrow H. Pace officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
