George R. Skroch

George Skroch, 91, of La Crosse died Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the Sterling House in La Crosse. He was born May 21, 1922 in Independence, Wis. to Peter and Anna (Ressler) Skroch. George married Irene Marsolek on May 17, 1948 in Independence. She died February 19, 2013. The couple lived most of their married life in La Crosse. George worked as a machinist at Trane Company in La Crosse until retirement. Survivors include a brother, Clarence Skroch of Strum; a sister, Benvenuta Omdahl of Racine; two brothers-in law, Dave (Sue) Marsolek of La Crosse and Richard Marsolek of Deadwood, S. D., a sister-in-law, Alice Skroch of Independence, and many nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his wife, Irene; an infant son, Roger; brother, Clifford Skroch; half-sister, Gertrude and half-brother, August. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with Very Rev. Woodrow H. Pace officiating.
