Catherine "Cat" Wendricks, 78, of Whitehall, died Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Gundersen Tri-County Hospital and Clinics, Whitehall.
She was born December 12, 1934 in Kenosha to Clifford and Dorothy (Nolan) Wendricks.
Cat worked at her father's restaurant, the Frostop and then at Nino's, both in Kenosha. After moving to Trempealeau County, she was co-owner of the Zoo Bar and also farmed for several years. She worked at Trempealeau County Health Care Center and Ben Franklin in Whitehall. She loved to read and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Packer fan. She cheered at her daughters' softball games and was a scorekeeper.
Survivors include four children, George DeRosch of Fort Worth, Texas, Dorothy (Bruce Danielson) Davidson of Janesville, Frances (Jeff Stendal) Manka of Pigeon Falls and John R. (Elizabeth) Manka of Eleva; 6 grandchildren, Tammy Sanders of Blair, Ben Sanders of La Crosse, Jenny (fiancé, Dave Gamroth) Manka of Independence, Jessica Manka of Arcadia, Jeana Manka of Eau Claire and Grace Manka of Eleva and one great-grandson, Weston Gamroth; Raymond "Bud" Manka of Elk Creek; nieces, nephews and many life-long friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Clifford Jr.
Time of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, August 31, from 1-4 p.m. with family reflections at 3:00 p.m. at Edison Funeral Home, Independence.
