Valeria “Vina” Mish, 95, of rural Strum, died Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse.
Vina was born December 12, 1917 in Burnside Township, Trempealeau County, to John F. and Anna M. (Kabus) Marsolek. She married Clarence Mish. He died March 1, 1975.
The couple farmed in Roskos Valley, rural Strum. Vina enjoyed gardening, houseplants and fishing. Vina was a good cook and always had something to eat for visitors.
She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, its women’s organization and rosary society.
Survivors include her son, Edward of Strum; four sisters, Rose Mish of Galesville, Angeline (George) Klimek of Merrill, Wis., Marian (Quintin) Pronschinske of Arcadia and Eleanore Suchla of Independence; nieces and nephews and close friend, Cindy Smith of Strum.
She was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers, Leonard, Robert and an infant brother.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 12, 2013 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service followed by a rosary, at 7:30 p.m., at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
