Herman Frank Wiench, 86, of Independence, died peacefully with his family at his side, on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Pigeon Falls Health Care Center, Pigeon Falls. He was born March 24, 1927 in Wickam Valley, rural Independence, to Frank and Stella (Puchalla) Wiench. He married Rose Ann Theisen on October 26, 1963 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Independence. Herman worked at Sprecher Lumber in Independence and was a milk hauler for Wisconsin Dairies until retirement. Herman was a World War II Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Rose Ann of Pigeon Falls; three children, Lynn (Mark) Finner of Arcadia, Rodney Wiench of Pigeon Falls and Armilla (Richard) Lyga of Arcadia; five siblings, Romelle Christianson of Whitehall, Lucy Micheau of Milwaukee, Betty (Andy) Klimek of Hastings, Minn., Andy Wiench of Pigeon Falls and Esther (Bill) Zezulka of Albert Lea, Minn.; four grandchildren, Kayla and Brooke Finner, Tristan and Trey Lyga all of Arcadia; many nieces and nephews. Herman was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Mike Wiench; a sister, Delores Wiench; brothers-in-law, Harold Christianson and Jim Micheau; nephews, Gary Christianson and Lance Klimek. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. Burial, with military rites, will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. followed by a rosary, at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
