Adolph Saverinski, 91, of Independence, died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Tri-County Care Center, Whitehall.
Adolph was born June 8, 1921 in Burnside Township, Trempealeau County, to John and Catherine (Kloss) Saverinski. He married Katherine Smieja on November 4, 1957 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. She died November 7, 1988.
Adolph worked on the family farm, railroad and then retired from the Trempealeau County Highway Department. He loved to fish and could crack hickory nuts like nobody's business. He enjoyed playing Whist with his family.
Survivors include a brother, Alphonse (Patricia) Saverinski of Independence; two sisters, Agnes Dubiel of Independence and Pelchie (Richard) Rathke of Eau Claire; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; four sisters, Genevieve Hagenbarth, Felia Kokott, Blanche Killian and Cecelia Killian and a niece Darlene Miles.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with Very Rev. Woodrow H. Pace officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. followed by a rosary, at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
