Grace A. Haddeman, 91, of Eau Claire, died Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Dove Healthcare-West, Eau Claire from pancreatic cancer that had spread into the spleen, liver and lungs.
Grace was born at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire on June 8, 1921 to George A. and Minnie A. (Cowell) Bryce. She lived in the Caryville area all of her life and attended the Caryville School from which she graduated 8th grade.
She married Pat Haddeman on September 18, 1940 in Decorah, Iowa. They divorced in 1979.
She is survived by one son, Jerry (Judy) Haddeman of Dawsonville, Ga.; two daughters, Luanne (Dennis) Scheuermann of Eau Claire, Connie (John) Herman of Whitehall, Wis.; three granddaughters, Jacqueline Haddeman of Virginia Beach, Va., Tamara (Rick) Rein of Eau Claire, Mary (David) Marsolek of Whitehall; seven grandsons, Patrick (Barbara) Haddeman of Sacramento, Calif., Robert (Cindy) Haddeman of Eau Claire, Michael (Lucy) Haddeman of Dawsonville, Ga., Mark (Britney) Haddeman of Cumming, Ga., Charles (Catherine) Herman of Whitehall, James (Jennifer) Herman of Nashville, Tenn., Wayne (Michelle) Scheuermann of Woodbury, Minn.; 13 great-grandchildren and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a great-grandson, Lucas Robert Marsolek.
Grace will always be remembered as a lover of food-cooking, baking and eating. She enjoyed reading cookbooks late into the evening to find a new recipe to try and enjoyed the monthly luncheons with the "Dancing Friends" and the Brunswick Cemetery Club. She struggled to eat food even when her health deteriorated to the point of losing her ability to do so.
No public services or visitation will be held. Burial will be in the Pleasantville Cemetery, rural Whitehall.
