Margaret F. Bautch, 88, of Independence, died Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Tri-County Care Center, Whitehall.
Margaret was born June 25, 1924, in Arcadia, to John and Frances (Bisek) Micek. She married Larry Bautch November 18, 1948 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. He died January 2, 1993.
She attended Frances Nystrom Cosmetology School in Minneapolis and became a beautician. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Borst Valley. She was known for her handmade rag rugs. She loved gardening and flowers.
Margaret was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and its women's organization.
She is survived by seven children, Wanda (Rick) Kastner of St. Paul, Minn., Linda (Donald) Donaldson of New Auburn, Wis., Yvonne Jacobs of Eagan, Minn., Nancy (Chris) Exley of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., Frank (Brenda) Bautch and Marylou Bautch both of Independence, and Regis (Michelle) Bautch of Whitehall; two sisters, Bernice Matchey of Arcadia and Joan Reeves of St. Paul; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband; infant son; three brothers and three sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with Very Rev. Woodrow H. Pace officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Monday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. followed by a rosary, at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
