Helen A. Myers, 103, of Independence, died Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Tri-County Care Center, Whitehall.
Helen was born December 3, 1909 in Elk Creek, to John and Anna (Gamroth) Gamroth. She married Vernon E. Myers on November 25, 1931 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. He died November 11, 1991.
She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, women's organization and rosary society.
Helen is survived by five children, Robert (Arlene) Myers of Largo, Fla., William (Sheila) Myers of Rochester, Minn., Jean A. Wozney and Janet Glaunert both of Independence, Patrick (Karen) Myers of Cudahy, Wis.; a daughter-in-law, Mary Myers of Milwaukee; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son Roger Myers; two sons-in-law, Raymond Wozney and Zig Glaunert; five brothers and five sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with Very Rev. Woodrow H. Pace officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. followed by a rosary, at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
