La Vern Kolve

La Vern "Eddie" Kolve, 67, of rural Strum, died Saturday January 19, 2013 at his home. La Vern was born March 8, 1945 to Clayton and Ella (Norby) Kolve in Chimney Rock Township, Trempealeau County. He married Janice Bautch January 7, 1967 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. La Vern worked at Whitehall Packing, Pat's Country Meat Market, Indee Meat and Locker Service and then farmed in rural Strum. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchild. He also enjoyed hunting. La Vern is survived by his wife, Janice of rural Strum; two sons, Randy (Nikki) Kolve of Eleva and Michael (Heidi) Kolve of Strum; six grandchildren, Justin (Cayla), James, Amanda and Tabatha Kolve, Austin Baynton and Ashlynn Solie; one great-grandson, Caleb Kolve; six brothers and sisters, Joyce Olson of Eleva, LaVonne (Frank) Evans of Sammamish, Wash., Nels (Ione) Kolve of Eau Claire, Bob (Gerrie) Kolve of Strum, Clay Kolve of Eleva and Karen Raney of Lynnwood, Wash. and his beloved dog, Tippy. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Wayne. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, with Rev. Kary Jonas officiating. Burial at Lookout Cemetery will be at a later date. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
