Carla S. Edison, 50, of rural Eleva, died Friday, January 4, 2013 at her home following a two month battle with cancer.
Carla was born July 15, 1962, in Eau Claire, to Lloyd and Eileen E. (Hawkenson) Edison. She married Michael Lokken May 13, 1989. They were later divorced.
Carla graduated from Eleva-Strum Central High School in 1980 and worked as an independent insurance agent with AFLAC for 25 years.
She made a positive impact on the lives of everyone she touched. She had a heart of gold, lived life to its fullest and loved to dance. Carla was a member of Eleva Lutheran Church.
Carla is survived by two children, Maggy and Brock Lokken both at home; two sisters, Candyce J. (Mark) Lund and Cheryl D. (Don) Solfest all of Eleva; three nephews, Andy (Sheryl) Lund of Eau Claire, Dallas Solfest of Bloomer and Dalton Solfest of Eleva; three nieces, Amy (Ben) Reiten of Poplar, Wis., Jayme (Bob) Ellis and Lynnsi (Chad) Gullicksrud both of Eleva; five grand-nephews and grand-nieces Hayden and Makenna Lund of Eau Claire, Dominic Ellis, Madilyn and Garrett Gullicksrud all of Eleva; three aunts, Barbara Sands of Eleva, Irvine Whaley of Cheboygan, Mich. and Kay (Willard) Haigh of Eleva; special friend, Jeff Bemis of Eleva and many cousins.
Carla was preceded in death by her parents and many aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Eleva Lutheran Church, with Rev. David Sands officiating. Burial will be in the East Bennett Valley Cemetery, rural Eleva, at a later date.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to services Tuesday at Eleva Lutheran Church.
