Joseph J. Symicek, 83, of La Crosse, died Sunday, May 29, 2011 at Hillview Health Care Center, La Crosse.
He was born in rural Independence to John and Sophia (Klimek) Symicek. Joseph married Cora Collman on January 28, 1950 in La Crosse. She died August 20, 2010.
Joe worked at Trane Company in La Crosse for 39 years. He owned and operated Symicek Well and Pump for many years. He loved playing cards, dancing, playing a harmonica, camping and riding his motorcycle with his wife, Cora.
Survivors include five children, Raymond (Deb) Symicek of Franklin, Ky., Robert (Janet) Symicek and Rudolph Symicek both of Onalaska, Ronald (Janeen) Symicek and Carol (Gary) Gross both of La Crosse; seven grandchildren, Nicholas (Jill) Gross, Kristina Gross, Andrea (Mark) Branson, Jonathan, Jeffrey and Michael Symicek all of La Crosse and Mandy (Andy) Baker of Onalaska; three great-grandchildren, Ella and Jack Branson and Hennli Jo Gross.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
