Dorothy Suchla, 87, of rural Arcadia, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Franciscan Skemp Healthcare, Arcadia.
Dorothy was born January 6, 1924 in rural Arcadia to Peter A. and Frances (Przybilla) Klimek. She married Ralph Suchla on September 10, 1945 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Independence. He died May 27, 1996.
The couple farmed on Montana Ridge, rural Arcadia, until retirement. Dorothy was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, its Women’s Organization, Rosary Society and Banquet Committee.
Survivors include a son, Roger Suchla of Arcadia; two daughters, Sharon and Sandra Suchla both of Winona; daughter-in-law, Virginia Suchla of Arcadia; granddaughter, Stacy Suchla of Onalaska; three brothers, Aloizy and Albert Klimek, both of Arcadia and Vincent (Joyce) Klimek of Independence; two sisters, Valeria Kampa of Arcadia and Marian (Alfred) Micek of Independence; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband; son, Robert Suchla; three sisters, infant Eleanor Klimek, Anne Marsolek and Rose Woychik.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, with Rev. Woodrow H. Pace officiating. Burial will be in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Independence, at a later date.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until time of services Saturday.
A luncheon will be held at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church following services.
The family suggests memorials be given to the donor’s choice.
