Shirley Baker, 70, of Independence, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Black River Memorial Hospital, Black River Falls.
Shirley was born February 29, 1940 in Kenyon, Texas to August and Verna (Prudlick) Halama.
Survivors include three sons, Steve (Linda) Baker of Independence, Jerry (Lois) Baker of Arcadia and Scott Wright of Chetopa, Kansas; her mother, Verna M. Halama of Independence; a sister, Sally West of Austin, Texas; a brother, Sam (Mary Lou) Halama of Joplin, Missouri; three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Shirley was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Sue Ware.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with Rev. Woodrow H. Pace officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday and 8-10 a.m. Saturday at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, where there will be a prayer service followed by a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
